Inclusive wedding suits for grooms

Stylish suits that actually fit | Inclusive wedding suits for grooms

Inclusive wedding suit sizing is something we pride ourselves on at Hunter & Grey’s. Here’s why we’re breaking the mould with our approach to sizing.

Ever been handed a suit only to find it hanging off the arms, tight around the chest and yet somehow still baggy in all of the wrong places? You aren’t alone – and you aren’t the problem. The problem is a lack of inclusive sizing.

When you’re a groom, this is the last thing that you want to tackle. Because finding a wedding suit shouldn’t feel like squeezing into someone else’s idea of style. Your wedding suit should fit like a glove, feel effortlessly comfortable and give you the biggest confidence boost you’ve ever experienced.

Here’s why inclusive wedding suit sizing matters, and how we do things differently at Hunter & Grey’s.

The problem with standard suit sizing.

One of the biggest problems we find is that the majority of brands and suit providers work with set sizes and limited samples. So, unless you fit into what they deem as ‘typical’, there’s a considerable chance that their suits aren’t going to tick all of your boxes. This can be pretty frustrating for grooms of different builds. After a more inclusive wedding suit? Dream on.

What we tend to see is suits that are made for mannequins – not real people. This leads to limited options in-store and awkward compromises. Let’s face it; the average guy isn’t average. And your wedding isn’t the time to settle for ‘good enough’.

A poor fit can impact your confidence in ways you might not expect. If your trousers don’t sit right or your jacket pulls every time you move, it takes you out of the moment. Instead of focusing on the joy of your day, you’re adjusting buttons or feeling self-conscious. And honestly, you deserve better than that.

What inclusive wedding suits really mean (and why they matter).

At its heart, inclusive wedding suit sizing is all about recognising that bodies are different: and your wedding suit should reflect that.

It isn’t just a ‘cross it off the list’ activity – it’s about suiting all builds, from broad shouldered, to short legged, tall, stocky, athletic, lean and everything in between. Inclusive wedding suits are about working towards a real fit: one that gives you confidence, comfort and the ability to enjoy every part of your big day.

Your suit should fit you, not the other way around. That’s why all of our hire suits go up to a 62” chest and a 56” waist, with our popular Ocean and Pewter flannel ranges going up to a 70” chest and 64” waist. We don’t want you worrying about the bottom of your wedding suit jacket lingering mid stomach when you’re busting those 11pm moves, or feeling anything but dapper in your wedding album. Comfort is key, and it’s our job to make that your reality.

We also have the option of made-to-measure, allowing us to take all of our groomswear up to a 70” chest. We can then tweak all of those finer details to guarantee no guessing or squeezing, flexibility in cut, fabric and finish and small adjustments to flatter your shape.

Basically, you tell us what you want to feel like. We’ll handle the rest.
